Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking an experienced physician to perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations for VA-related disability assessments. You will review medical records, conduct detailed evaluations, and prepare objective reports with supporting documentation.

The role requires an MD/DO and board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or PM&R, plus an active license. Flexible scheduling and no on-call duties are offered in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree as required.
• Board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry or PM&R.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the practicing state.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
