Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations and prepare detailed VA documentation. The role involves reviewing veterans' records, assessing residual cognitive/neurological functions, and producing thorough medical reports with strict HIPAA compliance.

The position offers flexible scheduling (full-time, part-time, or PRN) and emphasizes no on-call duties, no prescribing, and no ongoing patient management. Active US licensure is required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required from an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Physiatry (PM&R).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the treating state.
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive TBI C&P examinations.
• Review veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals of TBI.
• Complete VA DBQs accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams for timely submissions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
