Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Trauma Surgical ICU (TSICU) within the PDNE team. The educator will promote patient safety and clinical excellence through education, competency development, and quality improvement, translating evidence into practice across the TSICU.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN license.
• Five years of critical care clinical experience.
• Two years of leadership experience in education, nursing management, or quality improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to identify practice gaps and evaluate educational impact.
• Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to meet workload demands including evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate education through multiple modalities (classroom, simulation, bedside).
• Strengthen clinical judgment and decision-making in trauma/surgical critical care.
• Partner with nursing leadership to identify educational, patient safety, and quality priorities.
• Support implementation of new procedures, equipment, and evidence-based practices.
• Lead or participate in quality improvement, audits, and regulatory readiness.
• Collaborate with teams to advance education and practice.
