Trauma Surgery Opportunity at Level II Trauma Center in Wisconsin

Marshfield Medical Center (MMC) is seeking a 1.0 FTE BC/BE fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon to join an established 7-member Trauma Surgery section in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This service is an acute care trauma service model covering all aspects of acute care surgery, critical care and trauma. MMC is a Level II Trauma Center. Trauma attending is in house 24/7.

During the day, one trauma surgeon/surgical intensivist or critical care intensivist staffs the SICU, one surgeon staffs the Acute Care Surgical Service, and one surgeon is dedicated to trauma patients on the floor and to trauma activations. At night, one trauma surgeon covers SICU, Acute Care Surgical Service and Trauma. Four 5-night shifts per month. Back-up for the night trauma surgeon is covered by a day trauma surgeon. The ICU and trauma services are each supported by allied health providers. The acute care surgical service includes surgical resident supervision. The ideal candidate will have completed a Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Fellowship and be board certified/board eligible for surgical critical care through the American Board of Surgery. An interest in participating in trauma research is required.

Compensation and Benefits

Sanford Health offers a nationally competitive compensation plan with an additional physician benefits package including a health, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, CME allowance, allowed time away, malpractice insurance and tail coverage, and a relocation allowance.

• Annual compensation of $605,000 if you complete required number of shifts for 1.0 FTE
• In addition, a $100,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 4 years (this will be subject to a contractual agreement specifying all details)
