Job summary

Marshfield Medical Center in Wisconsin seeks a BC/BE Anesthesiologist to join our Department of Anesthesia. You will provide anesthesia coverage, supervise CRNAs, perform regional and OB anesthesia, and manage invasive monitoring for cases at our rural Level II trauma center.

The ideal candidate will have MD or DO, completion of a fellowship, board certification, and evidence of at least 200 anesthesia cases in the last 24 months. We encourage involvement in education and research.

  • ACGME/AOA/RCPSC fellowship completed or in progress.
  • Active involvement in at least 200 anesthesia cases in the last 24 months.

Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Anesthesiologist to join an established Department of Anesthesia in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

The ideal candidate will provide anesthesia coverage, including medical direction to CRNAs, regional anesthesia, OB, and invasive monitoring. Support surgical services at a level II trauma center in a rural setting, all cases except for transplants. Pediatric and cardiac cases are covered by fellowship‑trained anesthesiologists.

Job Description

Anesthesiology Core Privileges include performing history and physical examinations and the comprehensive management of patients of all ages rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgical, obstetrical.

Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways: an applicant who has just completed a fellowship shall provide his/her fellowship log.
  • An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates and other complications.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 200 Anesthesia cases in the last 24 months.
  • More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency/fellowship of at least 3-4 years’ duration in Anesthesia accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency.
  • The Credentials Committee and the Board of Directors may consider training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above.
  • Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions).
