Boston Medical Center seeks an RN Supervisor to lead the Clinical Trauma Registry at our Level I Adult Trauma Center, ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate trauma data for New England. The role supervises five trauma registrars, oversees compliance with NTDB/TQIP and MA DPH, and provides AIS and ICD-10-CM coding expertise, staff training, and performance improvement support.

This position emphasizes collaboration with Trauma Program leadership and ongoing education to maintain registry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current MA Registered Nurse License required by hire date.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM inpatient coding required.
• Must obtain and maintain CSTR certification by hire date.
• Must obtain CAISS certification by hire date.
• Must complete ACS Trauma Registry Course or equivalent within 12 months of hire.
• Must complete AAIS Injury Scaling (AAIS) Course within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Trauma Registry operations by directing workflow and overseeing staff.
• Ensure staff are trained in ICD-10-CM coding, AIS coding, and data entry.
• Lead TQIP participation and education.
• Support ACS and MA DPH verification and designation activities.
• Coordinate monthly Trauma Multidisciplinary Committee.
• Prepare and validate registry data for quarterly reports.
• Identify opportunities for database enhancement with IT and vendors.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to analyze trauma data and support PI.
• Coordinate research data requests for grants and publications.
• Represent the program at professional meetings.
