Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
• National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association upon hire
• National Provider PALS - American Heart Association upon hire
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) and Stop the Bleed Instructor within 1 year of hire.
• Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) within 1 year of hire.
• If hired as Lead Registrar-Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) within 3 years of hire.
• 2 years of recent nursing experience in one or more of the following areas: Emergency Department nursing; Critical Care nursing, medivac, Pediatric Intensive Care nursing.

Responsibilities

• Abstract trauma patients' data from medical records for entry into the Alaska Trauma Registry.
• Support report generation and data validation programs.
• Coordinate with Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director to monitor trauma system elements.
• Contribute to injury research, epidemiology, quality improvement and trauma care delivery.
