Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Trauma Registrar for Rhode Island Hospital to enter trauma data into the TraumaOne database from medical records, ensuring accurate coding (ICD-10 and AAAM) and timely entry. Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Medical Record Management or related health science field preferred.
• Completion of Trauma Registrar course within 9 months of hire
• Certification in Injury Severity Scoring/AIS within 1 year of employment.
• CCA or CCS certified highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Primary role is collection, abstraction and entry of clinical data of admitted trauma patients into the TraumaOne database.
• Identify and enter patients into the trauma database using trauma database criteria.
• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes (ICD-10 and AAAM) to injuries.
• Maintain 80% completion within 60 days of discharge.
• Participate in data validation to achieve 95% or better accuracy.
