Job summary

Beverly Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking a Lead Trauma Registrar to ensure accurate trauma data for operations, quality initiatives, and research. You will supervise the Trauma Registry staff, validate data, and support submissions to state and national registries while coordinating with the Trauma Program Manager and PI teams.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy sufficient to evaluate, abstract and code information from patient charts.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and good judgement.
• CAISS certification (every five years) or within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with TPM on State and National Trauma Registry Data Submissions.
• Manage daily activities of Trauma Registrars, including data extraction from Epic.
• Monitor registry compliance for mandated submission data points.
• Coordinate PI reports on TraumaOne Program.
• Oversee continued education for Registrar staff.
• Co-manage Trauma Registrar timecards with TPM.
• Provide accurate monthly data for Trauma-related reporting.
• Develop streamlined data flow into the registry from concurrent sources.
• Inform TPM and Trauma Medical Director of data concerns.
• Coordinate with medical records to maximize data abstraction efficiency.
• Ensure monthly completed abstractions within two months of discharge.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to promote Trauma Program goals.
• Report critical gaps in documentation to the TPM.
• Create PI reports on all trauma patients for departments as needed.
• Complete 4 hours of registry-specific continuing education per year.
