Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Trauma Registrar to maintain the Trauma Registry database, support performance improvement activities, and respond to information requests. The role requires accurate data entry and routine collaboration with the Trauma Program Director/Manager.

Ideal candidates will have a 2-year medical degree or equivalent, EMT certification, and experience in emergency/trauma care.

Qualifications

• Education: 2-year college degree in medical profession or equivalent
• EMT-Intermediate or EMT-Paramedic certification preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency/trauma care experience preferred
• Attention to detail is essential
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data presentations
• Injury scaling course (AAAM/AIS) within 12 months or per director’s discretion
• TETAF Hospital Data Management Course within 12 months of employment

Responsibilities

• Maintain trauma registry data with accuracy for performance improvement
• Assist with quality improvement studies and information requests
• Exercise independent judgment within established limits
• Demonstrate proficiency in data collection and analysis
• Meet regularly with Trauma Program Director/Manager
• Educate staff on trauma care processes
• Collaborate with healthcare team to improve patient outcomes
• Maintain confidentiality and data security
• Perform other duties as assigned
