Dallas Regional Medical Center is a 202-bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, offering a wide range of medical services including 24/7 emergency care, cardiology, wound care, surgical services, cardiac catheterization, and imaging.

The hospital is the only Certified Stroke Center, Accredited Chest Pain Center, and Labor and Delivery Unit in the area. It is also the only Trauma Center within 13 miles and was the first Accredited Geriatric Emergency Room in Dallas County. Responsibilities

  • Collect, complete, and verify the accuracy of all patient data from the Trauma Registry system.
  • Support quality assurance and improvement initiatives as the foundation of the Trauma Program.
  • Create and maintain clinical and statistical data, including AIS coding, ICD-9-CM, and ICD-10-CM codes, and abstract data as required by the American College of Surgeons, the National Trauma Data Bank, Trauma Program, and DRMC Hospital.
  • Provide data and statistics from the trauma registry to the Trauma Manager monthly and upon request.
  • Assist the Trauma Manager with trauma outreach efforts when possible.
  • Report directly to the Trauma Manager and adhere to trauma registry standards.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current BLS certification required upon hire and maintained
  • Proficiency in typing, computer literacy, and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • At least 3 years of clinical healthcare-related experience
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Trauma database training preferred
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM coding, E-codes, and Injury Severity Scoring preferred
  • Understanding of quality assurance and process improvement preferred
  • Experience with data analysis and report writing preferred
  • Successful completion of Certification Examination for Trauma Registrars (CSTR) preferred
