Responsibilities

The Patient Account Registrar interviews patients or their representatives to obtain demographics, insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX and reception. Must operate a computer to input and retrieve data and communicate effectively across age groups from neonatal to geriatrics. Maintains proficiency in medical terminology. May be assigned special projects with specific deadlines.

Qualifications
  1. Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  3. Effective communication skills.
  4. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  5. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Customer service experience required.
  7. High School Diploma or GED required.
