Job summary

The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island’s Trauma Recovery Center is seeking a Victim Services & Care Coordinator to provide trauma-informed, victim-centered services to those affected by violent crime and victimization. You will be a primary contact for 75–100 participants annually, guiding intake, safety planning, advocacy, and care coordination.

The role requires a Master’s in a behavioral health field, NY LMSW/LMHC licensure, and bilingual English/Kreyòl Ayisyen.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health or human services field.
• Current NYS licensure as LMSW or LMHC is required.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Kreyòl Ayisyen required.
• Experience in victim services, case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, or care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, victim-centered services to individuals impacted by violence and victimization.
• Serve as primary contact for 75–100 participants annually from intake through follow-up and case closure.
• Conduct intake, psychosocial, safety and risk assessments to identify needs and priorities.
• Develop service plans and provide mental health services focused on stabilization and coping.
• Offer crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, and care coordination.
• Assist participants with navigating housing, benefits, healthcare, and legal services.
• Provide victim compensation assistance and court accompaniment as appropriate.
• Coordinate referrals and warm connections to internal and external providers.
• Travel to meet participants, attend court, and coordinate services as required.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and input data into TherapyNotes and reporting systems.
