Job summary

The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island’s Trauma Recovery Center (JCCGCI’s TRC) seeks an Intake Coordinator to be the welcoming first contact for individuals pursuing recovery services. You will conduct intake, support eligibility screening, and maintain accurate documentation while coordinating with the TRC team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, social services, or community settings preferred.
• Trauma-informed intake experience and HIPAA confidentiality knowledge is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage diverse individuals with empathy and respect.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals seeking recovery services and provide information regarding supports and eligibility requirements.
• Engage participants in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive manner to understand needs and connect to services.
• Conduct in-person intake appointments and collect required participant information for intake documentation.
• Assist with eligibility screening and ensure information is accurately documented.
• Maintain confidential, accurate participant records and documentation per HIPAA and policies.
• Input and update participant information in TherapyNotes and other systems for reporting.
