Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Manager of Trauma Program to lead trauma performance improvement, injury prevention, education, and trauma registry operations. This role partners with the Trauma Medical Director and facility leadership to prepare for designation and verification by the Texas Department of State Health Services and the American College of Surgeons.

The ideal candidate has extensive trauma care experience, supervisory background, strong communication skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice professional nursing in Texas (State of Texas license).
• PALS or ENPC certification.
• Five years of clinical trauma care with three years of supervisory/management experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication and ability to collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the Trauma department.
• Monitor the quality of patient care during hospitalization.
• Develop performance improvement projects with unit leadership.
• Coordinate with Trauma Service for multidisciplinary case reviews to improve care.
• Ensure compliance with Texas Department of State Health Services and American College of Surgeons requirements.
• Communicate deficiencies and action plans to upper administration.
• Lead community outreach and trauma injury prevention initiatives.
• Participate in trauma committees and professional organizations.
• Uphold Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and budget constraints.
• Support staff development and serve as a preceptor and mentor.
