Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Trauma Coordinator to lead data collection for the Trauma Service and drive process improvements across trauma care operations. You will abstract data from patient records, support education for physicians, nurses and pre-hospital staff, and help optimize trauma systems.

The role requires a BSN and ACLS, with at least five years’ trauma care experience in ICU or ED, strong analytics and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of performance improvement processes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience caring for trauma patients in either the Intensive Care Unit or Emergency Department.
  • Good organization skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • ACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection of trauma patient data for the Trauma Service.
  • Use the Process Improvement Structure to resolve identified problems and enhance trauma patient care and trauma systems operations.
  • Participate in clinical education for physicians, nurses and pre-hospital personnel, as well as education to the public.
