Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Trauma PI Coordinator to oversee performance improvement and patient safety within the hospital trauma system. You will manage multidisciplinary peer reviews, track outcomes, and ensure compliance with trauma standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years trauma nursing, strong communication, and the ability to influence diverse audiences. Nursing certification and advanced education are preferred; this position emphasizes independent judgment and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Understanding of continuous quality improvement principles and CQI tools strongly preferred.
• Experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum of 3–5 years clinical trauma nursing experience (ED, OR, or trauma ICU).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence, persuade and interact with diverse audiences including physicians, staff and leaders.
• Computer skills with MS Office and information systems to create charts, tables and graphs.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
• Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of trauma performance improvement and patient safety processes.
• Maintain processes related to multidisciplinary trauma peer review and internal trauma systems issues.
• Track and trend complications and audit filters; manage relevant files and data systems.
• Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure knowledge of trauma standards of care and hospital trauma system operations.
