Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license in Washington State or multi-state licensure endorsement (MSL).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
  • ACLS certification.
  • TNCC certification.
  • PALS or ENPC certification.
  • Specialty certifications: TCRN, CEN, or CCRN preferred.
  • Minimum five years of professional nursing experience; trauma nursing preferred.
  • Minimum two years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and advance all aspects of the hospital's Level IV Trauma Program.
  • Ensure compliance with Washington trauma designation standards and support PIPS processes.
  • Lead injury prevention, outreach, and community engagement activities with EMS and hospitals.
  • Provide education, survey readiness, policy development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Plan and monitor budgets; supervise assigned staff; promote evidence-based care.
  • Partner with Trauma Medical Director and ED leadership to sustain program growth.

The coordinator serves as the primary resource for trauma quality improvement, registry oversight, education, survey readiness, policy development, and multidisciplinary collaboration. In addition, the role leads injury prevention, outreach, and community engagement activities, working with EMS agencies, referral hospitals, public safety partners, and community organizations to improve trauma system performance, enhance access to care, identify transfer and process improvement opportunities, and deliver trauma-related education throughout the region. Working collaboratively with the Trauma Medical Director, Emergency Department leadership, and AVP of Trauma Services, the coordinator helps ensure the long-term success, sustainability, and growth of Allenmore's trauma program while promoting evidence-based care and improved patient outcomes.**Position Summary**The Trauma Program Coordinator provides facilitation and direction for a multidisciplinary trauma service for an assigned Trauma Center. The incumbent works with the AVP for Trauma Services implements and monitors systems to enhance care of trauma patients receiving services; serves as a resource for inter-intra disciplinary team members and patient families that participate in the care of trauma patients; develops and applies standards and research to enhance quality of patient care; implements and evaluates performance improvement; develops effective working relationships with all system providers and management; supervises assigned staff and participates in the development and monitoring of the assigned budget. Plan and evaluate injury prevention initiatives using data, while collaborating with partners to deliver community education, outreach, and trauma awareness.**Requirements*** Bachelor's degree in Nursing (requied)/Master degree in Nursing (preferred)* Registered Nurse license (RN) in Washington State or multi-state licensure endorsement (MSL)* BLS BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification* Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or Emergency Nursing Pediatrics Course (ENPC) certification* Specialty Certification in one or more of the following: Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), or a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred* Minimum five (5) years of professional/technical nursing experience required; preferably in an emergency or critical care nursing unit, with at least six months experience in trauma nursing* Minimum two (2) years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity preferred**About Allenmore Hospital**MultiCare Allenmore Hospital has served Tacoma since 1929, offering convenient access to primary and specialty care services. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $145,808.00 - $205,545.60 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
