Job summary

Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio is seeking a Physician Assistant to cover 12-hour trauma shifts from 7 pm to 7 am, 7 on, 7 off, in a Level II Trauma Center.

You will participate in independent and collaborative rounding on trauma patients and respond to activations. You will collaborate with trauma surgeons and ED teams to develop plans from presentation to discharge, lead interdisciplinary rounds, and support the trauma clinic and general surgery as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified by NCCPA.
• Current licensure with the state of Ohio as a physician assistant.
• Completion of an accredited PA program.
• Master of Science in Physician Assistant related field as outlined by the Ohio State Medical Board.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover 12-hour trauma shifts (7 pm–7 am).
• Conduct independent and collaborative rounding on trauma patients.
• Respond to all trauma activations.
• Develop plans of care with trauma surgeon and ED from presentation through discharge.
• Lead interdisciplinary rounds.
• Support trauma clinic and general surgery, as needed.
• Operate within EPIC EMR and coordinate with ancillary departments.
