Job summary

You will support surgeons, ensure case carts are ready, and participate in turnover between cases. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, BLS certification, and state registration where required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures; pulls instruments and supplies; checks instrument readiness.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs and passes instruments; retracts tissue as needed.
• Maintains aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Counts sharps, instruments, and sponges; disposes of sharps and trash properly.
• Assists with OR turnover; stocks and replenishes supplies; cleans operating rooms.
• May provide administrative support to the department as assigned.
• Participates in training and orientation of staff and students as needed.
