Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare in El Paso, TX, seeks a Trauma Medical Director to lead the Level III trauma and acute care surgery services. The position requires board certification in General Surgery with trauma program experience or BC/BE in Surgical Critical Care, ATLS certification, and Texas medical license or eligibility.

The role involves clinical leadership, overseeing inpatient trauma and outpatient clinic rotations, and guiding program development with opportunities

Qualifications

• Board certification in General Surgery with trauma program experience or BC/BE in Surgical Critical Care.
• Demonstrated leadership in clinical management of trauma services.
• Minimum of fifteen 24-hour unrestricted call shifts per month, plus at least one outpatient clinic day per week.
• Inpatient trauma and acute care with rotation in outpatient clinic.
• Experience in laparoscopic and robotic surgery preferred.
• Texas medical license or eligibility for licensure.
• ATLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Level III trauma and acute care surgery services at Las Palmas Medical Center.
• Provide clinical leadership and drive program development for trauma services.
• Oversee call coverage and multidisciplinary collaboration with surgical teams.
• Ensure quality metrics, patient safety, and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate on education and outreach, including emergency department integration.

Job Summary:

Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking a Trauma Medical Director to lead the Level III trauma and acute care surgery services in El Paso, TX.

Qualified Candidates:

• Must be board certified in General Surgery with experience in a trauma program or BC/BE in Surgical Critical Care
• Provide leadership in the clinical management of trauma services
• Minimum of fifteen, 24-hour unrestricted call shifts per month in addition to at least 1 day in outpatient clinic per week
• Inpatient trauma and acute care with a rotation in an Outpatient clinic
• Experience in laparoscopic and robotics preferred
• Level III Trauma program: Registry volume 823, Trauma Admissions 414, Blunt 321, Penetrating 10
• Texas medical license, or eligible for Texas licensure
• Must be ATLS Certified
