Job summary

BUILD, Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is seeking a committed therapist to provide community-based mental health services for high-risk youth and their families on Chicago’s West Side.

The role includes clinical assessments, crisis support, and referrals within hospital and community settings. The Therapist will operate with a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, reporting to the Manager of Community Mental Health Services.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related mental health field.
• Working toward or holding licensure (LCSW/LCPC) is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with inner-city youth.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data collection/evaluation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment and in-field support to BUILD programs.
• Deliver client-centered, strength-based treatment to youth and families.
• Establish referral partners and coordinate with internal/external providers.
• Facilitate 1:1, family and group counseling.
• Develop treatment plans, monitor progress, and determine case closure with supervisor input.
• Provide mental health services through a trauma-informed lens.
• Support crisis response and community partnerships.
• Document activities and report outcomes as required.
