Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking an Empowerment & Resilience Specialist to deliver trauma-informed care and support to youth. You will foster an inclusive environment, help youths access opportunities, and guide them through education, employment, and wellness activities with a blended instructional approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; masters preferred.
• Previous group facilitation experience preferred.
• Experience with youth who may have experienced trauma or homelessness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, assessment and leadership skills.
• Flexible time management and ability to partner across Covenant House staff.

Responsibilities

• Welcome youth to the program, explain expectations and resources.
• Build trusting relationships to identify goals and opportunities.
• Facilitate programming aligned with five resiliency objectives: Wellness, Social Navigation, Financial Literacy, Education, Employment.
• Assist youth in achieving education, career, financial, wellness goals and success plans.
• Coordinate volunteer programming and engagement opportunities.
• Develop peer leadership initiatives and community partnerships.
