Job summary

The Children’s Home Network is seeking a compassionate Youth Caregiver to provide daily care, supervision, and support to youth in a therapeutic residential shelter in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on safety, well-being, and positive development for youth with trauma histories.

Responsibilities include teaching life skills, promoting healthy behaviors, implementing activities, and maintaining a safe living environment while collaborating with treatment teams, families, schools, and professionals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months of experience with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Florida driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Must pass required background checks and screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, supervision, and support to youth in a therapeutic residential shelter setting.
• Teach daily living skills and promote healthy behaviors.
• Implement recreational activities and maintain a safe, clean living environment.
• Use trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques to support youth’s emotional and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with treatment teams, families, schools, and other professionals to support each youth’s goals and transitions.
