Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Child and Youth Care Worker to support children and youths in a residential setting in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role emphasizes safety, daily care, emotional support, and development, with collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

You will implement individual care plans, participate in therapeutic activities, and maintain a nurturing atmosphere while working shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Competenze

• Relevant qualifications in Child and Youth Care Work or equivalent.
• Experience with children or youth in a care setting is essential.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive discipline.
• Police Clearance Certificate may be required.

Mansioni

• Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in a residential setting.
• Ensure safety, well‑being, and physical health of residents.
• Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene and bedtime.
• Implement and follow individual care plans for each child.
• Facilitate recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
• Provide emotional support and build positive relationships with children.
• Observe and report on behavior and development to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe living environment.
