You will implement individual care plans, participate in therapeutic activities, and maintain a nurturing atmosphere while working shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Child and Youth Care Work or equivalent.
• Experience with children or youth in a care setting is essential.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive discipline.
• Police Clearance Certificate may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in a residential setting.

• Assist with daily routines including meals, hygiene and bedtime.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Child and Youth Care Worker to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is essential in providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children and young people in need. You will be responsible for the daily care, emotional support, and developmental guidance of the children placed under your supervision. This is an on-site position, requiring a consistent presence and commitment to the well-being of the youth in Queenstown. The ideal candidate possesses a strong sense of empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and adolescents. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to individual care plans and ensuring a nurturing atmosphere.
