Job summary

Optimist Boys Home & Ranch in Palmdale, CA is seeking an Advocate to provide trauma-informed, relationship-based advocacy and case management to youth affected by exploitation and trauma. The role focuses on community-based engagement, crisis response, and supportive services to promote safety, stability, self-determination, and connections to healthy supports.

You will meet youth in homes, schools, hospitals, and other settings; develop Safety Plans and Advocacy Case Plans using SMART goals;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Child Development, Sociology, or related field.
• Minimum one year of case management, advocacy, or direct service experience with at-risk youth.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and harm-reduction practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours and possess a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Advocate, engage, and provide case management to youth in community and placement settings.
• Coordinate safety plans and individualized Advocacy Case Plans with SMART goals.
• Respond to crises with trauma-informed, harm-reduction approaches.
• Collaborate with DCFS, Probation, schools, and providers.
• Maintain compliant documentation and participate in supervision and MDTs.
