Job summary

LAWS is seeking a PRN Evening Weekend Shelter Specialist to support survivors at the 4pm–12am Saturday/Sunday shift in a 24-hour shelter. You will provide compassionate, trauma-informed intake and crisis intervention, assist with safety planning, and connect clients to LAWS services.

You will answer hotline calls and high-danger LAP assessments, helping survivors access resources while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries in a respectful, survivor-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, survivor-led intake, crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referrals, and warm handoffs to survivors seeking shelter or other LAWS services.
• Respond to survivor hotline calls and high-danger calls, providing support, information, referrals, and connection to safety.
• Support survivors and their children with basic needs, transportation, and access to services from shelter entry through departure.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, trauma-informed shelter environment that supports survivor choice and healing.
