Job summary

Common Ground is seeking a Victim Response and Readiness Navigator to support statewide Victim Response program. The role provides trauma-informed navigation, advocacy, preparedness support, and response assistance before, during, and after mass violence or major community traumas.

The position involves traveling across Michigan, working flexible hours during trainings, outreach, deployments, and urgent response needs, and collaborating with emergency management, law enforcement, and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Public Health, Emergency Management, Human Services, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Experience providing trauma-informed services, crisis intervention, victim advocacy, or related support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout Michigan for trainings, outreach events, deployments, or urgent response needs.
• Provide trauma-informed, victim-centered support to individuals, families, and communities impacted by violence or trauma.
• Assess needs and connect to behavioral health supports, victim services, and community resources.
• Participate in deployment activities in coordination with program leadership and partners.
• Support victim response centers and readiness deployment locations as assigned.
• Assist with intake, resource coordination, and long-term recovery connections.
• Maintain deployment readiness materials and outreach resources.
