Job summary

Pace Center for Girls in Florida seeks a substitute teacher dedicated to educating girls within a year-round program that provides wraparound educational and social services. The role supports ongoing student development in a nurturing, trauma-informed setting.

As a substitute, you will assist classroom teachers, implement state-aligned lessons, assess progress, and foster a safe, gender-responsive environment while maintaining high expectations and culturally sensitive practices.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher as required by the district
• Certification and endorsements by required deadlines
• Valid Florida ID or Florida Driver's License
• Knowledge of laws relating to children and families
• One-year teaching experience preferred (from preferences)

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and deliver instructions and lessons provided by the Classroom Teacher in their absence
• Design and align instruction to state standards
• Use formal and informal assessment to monitor progress and plan instruction for girls' needs
• Plan effective classroom instruction with differentiated strategies
• Create a safe, trusting classroom environment that is gender responsive and trauma informed
• Maintain standards of behavior conducive to learning
• Promote student confidence, perseverance, and academic goal achievement
• Know Florida graduation requirements and promote college readiness
• Strive for equitable opportunities and respect diversity
• Perform other duties as assigned
