Job summary

Pace Center for Girls in Florida is seeking a part-time substitute teacher dedicated to supporting girls' education within a year-round program. You will step in for classroom teachers, deliver instruction, and help create a safe, trauma-informed learning environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, adherence to state standards, and ensuring continuity of instruction. A strong interest in empowering girls and prior teaching or youth work experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or meets district requirements.
• Attains and/or maintains certification and endorsements by required deadlines.
• Valid Florida ID or Florida Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of laws relating to children and families.
• Minimum one-year teaching experience.
• Teaching experience in an at-risk youth environment.
• Knowledge of state and school districts policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructions and lessons in the teacher’s absence.
• Align instruction to state standards.
• Use formal and informal assessments to monitor progress and plan instruction.
• Create a safe, gender-responsive, trauma-informed classroom environment.
• Maintain standards of behavior to support learning.
