Pace Center for Girls is hiring a science teacher to educate girls in grades 6-12 within a trauma-informed, girl-centered environment. You will design engaging, standards-based lessons and assess student progress to ensure mastery of Florida standards.

The role requires an active Florida teaching certificate and a bachelor’s degree or higher, with a commitment to wraparound support and holistic student development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Active Florida teaching certificate (Statement of Eligibility, Temporary or Professional).
• Knowledge of subject area – comfortable teaching science for grades 6-12.

Responsibilities

• Designs standards-based lesson plans and aligns instruction to effectively teach across multiple grade level classes.
• Uses formal and informal assessment to monitor progress and plan instruction to meet girls’ individual needs.
• Maintains a safe, trauma-informed, girl-centered classroom environment.
• Implements effective classroom management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
• Collaborates with colleagues to meet state and local requirements and supports college and career readiness.
