Job summary

Journey Health System is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to assist in training new staff and support trauma-informed practices. The role includes coaching during on-the-job training and monitoring staff morale with leadership to implement trainings and meetings.

The position serves as a bridge between employees and management, supporting recruitment, content creation, and needs assessments to enhance performance and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years' MH/IDD experience required.
• Must be a certified SCM, Ukeru and CPR/First Aid instructor or become certified within 6 months following hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training new staff and supporting trauma-informed implementation to promote staff development.
• Coaching and development of new staff through on-the-job training during employment and probationary period.
• Bridge between employees and management; monitor staff issues and report to management for workplace improvements.
• Review, interview and hire prospective new employees for the Agency Residential Programs.
• Create course content, presentations and materials to ensure trainees learn effectively.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

5 years' MH/IDD experience

Certified SCM/Ukeru/CPR-First Aid instructor or willing to certify within 6 months
