Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Villa Maria School, seeks a Special Education Teacher (Provisional, I OR II) to teach in a 12-month non-public setting, serving students with significant emotional, behavioral, and learning support needs. The teacher will develop and implement instructional plans aligned to IEPs and collaborate with families and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for Conditional Special Education licensure.
• Experience designing and delivering individualized instruction.
• Ability to implement IEPs and treatment plans.
• Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills.
• Proficiency with school data systems and reporting.
• Ability to obtain required TCI and CARE certifications.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans, delivers, and adapts trauma-informed special education instruction aligned with grade-level standards, IEPs, treatment goals, and individual needs.
• Develops and implements curriculum-aligned lesson plans, accommodations, and modifications that promote engagement and progress toward goals.
• Assesses and monitors student performance, using data to adjust instruction and support IEP decisions.
• Collaborates with administrators, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and revise IEPs and treatment plans.
• Maintains a safe, structured, inclusive classroom by applying crisis prevention and intervention practices.
• Maintains complete, accurate student records and required documentation to support compliance.
• Performs supervisory and program responsibilities, including monitoring students and attending meetings.
• Protects privacy and safety per HIPAA and agency policies; reports concerns promptly.
• Participates in professional development and school initiatives to improve instruction and outcomes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
