Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and Maryland SPED licensure readiness, with possible Master’s in SPED and Advanced Licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
  • Eligibility for Conditional Special Education licensure.
  • Maryland SPED licensure required or eligible.
  • Master’s degree in Special Education preferred or required for higher roles.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and adapt trauma-informed SPED instruction aligned with standards and IEP goals.
  • Develop curriculum-aligned lesson plans with accommodations and modifications.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with administrators, families, and multidisciplinary team on IEPs.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including IEPs, progress, and reports.
  • Maintain safe, structured classroom using TCI/CARE approaches as needed.
  • Support program initiatives and participate in required meetings.
