Job summary

IU Health's Riley Hospital in Indianapolis seeks a Social Worker - MSW, LCSW, HVIP Mental Health Provider to support violently injured patients through community-based services. Qualifications

• MSW degree required.
• Indiana LCSW licensure required.
• 3-5 years healthcare/mental health experience.
• Crisis Intervention Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, and SUD treatment.
• Knowledge of discharge planning and protective services.

Responsibilities

• Meet patients and families face-to-face, assess needs, develop treatment plans, and deliver interventions.
• Assess psychosocial risk factors, supports, and coping abilities.
• Counsel on emotional, social, and financial needs.
• Coordinate with protective services on abuse/neglect cases.
• Maintain crisis intervention and de-escalation practices for acute crises.
• Provide specialized mental health services, including crisis intervention and referrals.
• Assist in managing dangerous situations through clinical intervention techniques.
• Support group development and coordination for patients and families.
• Make recommendations for additional services to the violence intervention team.
• Develop strong relationships with hospital staff, law enforcement, APS/DCS, schools, and community agencies.
• Document all clinical activities in EMR.
• Participate in on-call and holiday rotations.
