Job summary

Child & Family Service seeks a Shelter Services Advocate to support participants in the shelter program, promoting empowerment and safety. You will help ensure basic needs are met and provide trauma-informed engagement to aid healing.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, overnight, and weekends, with emphasis on independence and strong communication with survivors. Requires a Hawaii driver’s license and ability to travel on the island.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and domestic violence dynamics is highly desired.
• Ability to engage with survivors from diverse backgrounds with empathy.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promote an empowering environment for participants in the shelter program.
• Ensure basic needs (food, clothing, shelter) are met and participants are safe.
• Provide trauma-informed engagement and services to help participants heal from trauma.
