Job summary

Child & Family Service in Ewa Beach, HI, is seeking a Part Time Shelter Services Advocate to empower participants, meet basic needs, and provide trauma-informed engagement in the shelter program. The role requires sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and the ability to work evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Under supervision, you will ensure participants are safe, supported, and able to live independently, while meeting program-related requirements and maintaining compassionate service delivery.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed care knowledge and ability to engage survivors respectfully.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client base.
• Willingness to work evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promote an empowering environment for shelter participants and help meet basic needs (food, clothing, shelter).
• Provide trauma-informed engagement and services to participants to aid healing from trauma.
• Coordinate with Shelter Manager/Program Supervisor to ensure safety and support within the shelter program.
