Job summary

The Direct Service Advocate (DSA) provides trauma-informed, survivor-centered support to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and related abuse. This role strengthens safe shelter operations and delivers crisis intervention, advocacy, safety planning, and resource navigation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years in social services/with at-risk individuals
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to use agency systems and databases
• Valid Alaska driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all policies, confidentiality standards, and reporting requirements
• Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered services with professional boundaries
• Respond to crisis line calls with safety planning and referrals
• Assist with intake, orientation, and discharge processes
• Develop individualized safety plans and stabilization strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation and case notes
• Facilitate groups and coordinate with internal/external partners
• Provide transportation and shelter resources as needed
