Job summary

Chief Seattle Club seeks a Raven Village Advocate to oversee shelter operations, provide staff coverage, coordinate supplies, and monitor resident behavior per the tenant code of conduct. You will assess clients’ needs and help them gain life skills for transitioning to permanent housing, with goals set and evaluated by the Community Services Director.

The role emphasizes safety, trauma-informed approaches, and collaboration with program leadership in a supportive Seattle environment.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills and ability to teach others to use computers.
  • Ability to handle complaints and conflicts calmly and professionally.
  • Experience working with homeless and/or low-income populations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of historical and intergenerational trauma among Indigenous communities.
  • Crisis intervention skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks under stress.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies and report needs.
  • Inspect property weekly and arrange maintenance or repairs.
  • Track completion of responsibilities on forms.
  • Conduct monthly bed bug inspections and document findings.
  • Supervise resident activities and maintain logs.
  • Assist case managers and support residents’ needs.
  • Enforce policies and prepare rooms for new tenants.
  • Provide office support and ensure daily/weekly chores are completed.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in safety trainings.
