Job summary

YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a Settlement Outreach Worker to support newcomers in Fort McMurray. The role involves trauma-informed case management, home visits, advocacy, and referrals to connect clients with essential settlement services.

Responsibilities include outreach, needs assessment in clients’ first language when possible, and coordination with partners. A reliable vehicle is required for community travel, with some evening/weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Experience working with immigrant or refugee populations is preferred.
• Knowledge of social determinants of health and community resources is essential.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with funder guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Engage with immigrant and refugee communities to promote settlement services.
• Conduct outreach at events, centers, schools, and places of worship.
• Develop individualized settlement plans and coordinate with community supports.
