Job summary

Evangelical Covenant Church's In My Shoes maternity program in Dallas seeks a Residential Support Specialist to maintain a safe, structured home environment. You will be on-site during shifts, support resident mothers and babies, and help with daily operations and safety.

You will engage with residents, uphold boundaries, assist with transportation and light housekeeping, and participate in ongoing staff training to ensure compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Passion for serving women and children in a supportive residential environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Adult & Infant CPR certification required (training can be provided).
• A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site coverage during assigned shifts to ensure the home remains safe, supportive, and well-run.
• Maintain a visible and approachable presence in the home during shifts.
• Answer the doorbell and welcome visitors; guide residents on house expectations and schedules.
• Offer relational support to residents while maintaining boundaries; assist with childcare when needed.
• Provide transportation when scheduled and approved; perform light housekeeping and admin tasks.
• Document shift updates and resident needs; ensure smooth handoffs between shifts.
• Overnight shifts provide a safe, stable presence and respond to resident needs.
• Report safety concerns to leadership and maintain a calm environment.
