Dakota Boys & Girls Ranch in Minot, ND is seeking a Residential Treatment Specialist I to support children and teens in a safe, structured environment. The role involves building relationships, teaching life skills, and helping youth work toward their treatment goals.

The RTS I works in a trauma-informed setting with a culture focused on care, growth, and teamwork, offering shifts B and C and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 or older at time of application and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a criminal background check including child abuse and neglect.
• Preferred: An insurable motor vehicle driving record.
• Post-secondary studies in social science, psychology, behavioral health, or human service-related fields are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, structured environment for children and teens aged 5–17.
• Build positive relationships with youth and families and support individual treatment goals.
• Teach life and social skills and support therapy goals.
• Document progress and communicate with families and the treatment team.
• Respond to challenging behaviors with compassion and remain calm under pressure.
