Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is a dynamic organization providing services to children, youth, families, and individuals with complex needs. Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs, focusing on safety, routine, and meaningful community participation.

As a PSS, you will support individuals at home and in the community, document shift activities, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; a degree in a field related to this role is preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience with people with complex needs; 3–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to be more independent in life skills such as meal preparation and personal hygiene.
• Advocate for individuals in rights, medical care, and community involvement.
• Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping every shift.
• Manage crisis situations safely; training for Positive Behavioral Supports and manual restraints provided as per 245D requirements.
• Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
