Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide trauma-informed psychiatric care to underserved populations within our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). You will diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions, provide psychiatric medication management, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver integrated, whole-person care.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Board Certification as a PMHNP/CNS or NP with psychiatric experience.
• Current, unrestricted NP licensure in Georgia.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience with mental illness and substance use disorders preferred.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment preferred.
• Knowledge of MAT and buprenorphine treatment is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide psychiatric medication management and ongoing follow-up care.
• Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral health services.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists through APRN Protocol Agreements.
• Work with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and care teams in an integrated care model.
• Support patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Participate in community outreach events and health fairs 3–4 times annually.
• Promote equitable healthcare access and positive patient outcomes.
