Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to provide peer counseling, mentorship, and recovery-focused services within Spokane’s community-based programs. You will engage clients and families, supporting transitions from inpatient care to community living, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote autonomy and resilience.

The role requires personal recovery experience, a valid driver’s license, and relevant credentials.

Qualifications

• Must identify as having one or more years in recovery from a mental health condition or substance use disorder.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to use a personal vehicle for work.
• Active CPSS/RAAC credentials or credentialing process may be required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support to clients, families, and natural supports.
• Mentor clients to build self-advocacy, resilience and recovery skills.
• Engage in discharge planning and transition support to community settings.
• Develop individualized care plans and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Document client interactions and maintain confidential records.
