Job summary

Centerstone seeks a Parenting Partner/Mentor to provide active, hands-on peer support to parents and caregivers across three counties. You will empower and coach families through processes with DCF, child welfare, courts, and community partners, using evidence-informed training and lived experience.

The role involves traveling up to 50% of the time, offering information on child development, assisting with budgeting and resources, and presenting workshops to families and groups.

Qualifications

• Formal education not required beyond high school (GED acceptable).
• Experience educating, outreach, and collaborating with community stakeholders is preferred.
• Ability to interact with diverse families and systems.
• Evidence-based/evidence-informed training plus lived experience guide practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on peer support to parent/caregivers.
• Collaborate to increase family involvement and systems change.
• Assist parents with developing practical skills and goals.
• Provide information on child development and parenting skills.
• Assist with budgeting, resources, and organizational tasks.
• Attend IEP and school meetings as requested.
• Coordinate with community agencies and family partners.
• Facilitate trainings/webinars for parents/caregivers, including trauma-informed curricula.
