Job summary

YWCA Northeast Kansas is in need of an Outreach Worker in Topeka to engage individuals at highest risk of violence and those most likely to be victimized, coordinating referrals and managing a caseload within a part-time schedule.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will work with partners to address identified needs, advocate for violence prevention, and maintain program compliance, all while promoting safety and dignity for participants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services field with minimum two years of experience in child welfare, youth development, street outreach, or reentry OR High School Diploma/GED with minimum four years of related experience.
  • Experience working in high-risk communities and with diverse populations.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and ability to work with individuals at risk of violence.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with participants from a trauma-informed lens and support goal setting.
  • Coordinate referrals to necessary services for participants.
  • Maintain communication per individualized service plans and program expectations.
  • Assist with planning activities and promote participation in positive activities such as arts, employment, and recreation.
  • Document service delivery as required by program.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a human services field
High school diploma / GED with 4 years related experience
