Job summary

The Childrens Center of Hamden is seeking a Milieu Manager (Clinical) for the Extended Day Treatment program in Hamden, CT. You will lead and supervise milieu staff, ensure a trauma-informed therapeutic environment, and coordinate transportation and daily scheduling.

Responsibilities include staff development, documentation compliance, and collaboration with families and schools to support youth success. Requires CT licensure (LMFT/LCSW/LPC), CPR/First Aid, and driver license.

Qualifications

  • Current Clinical licensure (LMFT, LCSW, or LPC) in CT required.
  • Valid CT driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Experience with families in social services, child welfare, or behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Minimum of one year post-licensure experience with training in child psychopathology and developmental psychology.
  • Working knowledge of DSM-V and ability to engage clients therapeutically in individual, family, and group modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising, training, and evaluating milieu staff to ensure high-quality care and adherence to agency policies.
  • Supporting staff in implementing individualized treatment goals and behavior management strategies.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely documentation and compliance with DCF, DSS, Joint Commission, and agency standards.
  • Providing clinical and administrative supervision, coaching, and crisis support as needed.
  • Overseeing transportation coordination and daily program scheduling.
  • Assisting with group facilitation and direct care coverage when necessary.
  • Collaborating with families, schools, and community partners to support youth success.
  • Promoting a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate treatment environment.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support program success.
