Job summary

Ozark Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support psychiatrists and APNs in a behavioral health setting. The MA delivers patient care, documents in electronic health records, and assists in coordinating office visits, always aligning with trauma-informed care.

Education: High School diploma; Missouri CMA certification, CPR and First Aid required. You will report to the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices and contribute to a compassionate patient experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must hold Missouri certification as a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Meet the total clinical needs of the practice patients as determined by the Psychiatrist or APN in consultation or as ordered.
• Report to the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices or to the Physician/APN.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Coordinator, doctor, or APN.
• Utilize proper communication with higher level nursing and/or physician; maintain medications and logs for samples as needed.
• Facilitate efficient patient transitions during office visits; identify problems and communicate pertinent data to physician/provider.
• Ensure accurate charting, charge preparation, and data collection.
• Make referrals, use standing orders, and document in electronic health records.
